Mugen

Mugen was created during the pandemic. A time when isolation became a normal feeling for most people. In those quiet days, live music and the experience of sharing it with others faded, until it was just a memory of the past.

From that experience sprouted mugen: a generative music engine, designed to be livestreamed, its sound evolving in response to the input of its listeners.

Mugen is an intricate Max/MSP patch, multiple sound generators playing off one another, creating an endless soundscape. In live settings, its multichannel audio envelops the space, each sound source traveling through the room independently.
